The Borough Council has six standing Committees. Generally, each Councilmember is designated as the Chairperson of one committee and as a member of two other Committees. Membership in each Committee is determined annually by vote of the Council. In addition to the duties designated to each Committee by ordinance, the Committees conduct
the initial review of expenditures by the departments they oversee. The standing committees of the Borough Council are: the Administration Committee, the Community Development and Code Enforcement Committee, the Environment, Health and Safety, Finance Committee, the Municipal Utilities Committee and the Public Works Committee.
The Administration Committee is charged with developing and recommending personnel policies and procedures and purchasing policies and procedures. The Administration Committee also oversees insurance policies and coverage, as well as
employee relations and evaluations.
